New Atlanta Venue?
Avondale Estates, a suburb of Atlanta with an approximate population of 3,000, wants to turn its aging Towne Cinema theatre into a music venue that will “rival some of the best in the nation,” according to the Decaturish webzine.

in Avondale. The next world-class music venue?
City commissioners reportedly approved a conditional use permit application for the venue during its June 23 meeting.
Tony Longval, a longtime drum tech and merch roadie for Sister Hazel, told the committee he has three investors to make the project happen, and the band is giving him a thumb up.
“It’s a beautiful thing,” Longval said at the meeting.
He added that the three-phased project would begin within two months. Commissioners asked for one thing in return: no dance floor because the neighbors did not want the theatre turning into a nightclub. Longval agreed, saying he wanted a classy establishment.
“It’s not going to happen,” he told Decaturish. “That’s not what I’m here for.”
