Happy Fourth. Gotta Run!

Hey folk(s). This is me, from Quebec City, during 4th of July. I wasn’t invited to any backyard BBQ’s so I figured I’d come here.

I am making a quick post on Pollstar.com and will fill in the blanks later. It’s been a busy day but my computer has been down so the prize-winning post will come later. Consider this a place holder.

For the one of you who has been wondering, because of my last post, I’m OK. I made it. Here’s proof (I’m obviously the sophisticated one).

I’d write more but, first, you guys are swimming and eating food and hanging out with loved ones.  Our hometown of Fresno sends you its regards. But even if without our contribution, nobody goes to our site on the Fourth of July.  We’ll send this thing into the stratosphere tomorrow. That means like twice as many paragraphs! Besides, nobody can write under these conditions.

Last night I ate at a bistro with every kind of whatever poutine is.  Right next to it was the Scène Hydro-Québec stage and although I didn’t have the energy to see the show, I heard Sandra Nkaké. Last night was, for some stages, dedicated to francophile music, but this stage was world music. Congrats to the sound company, whoever it is.

She sounded great.  Lots of the “people have the power” stuff which is fun.

Off to see Tegan & SaraLady Gaga and Vintage Trouble and hang out with one of our talented freelancer photographers, Scott Legato. One last thing for now: Had a fantastic interview with the latter band. Turns out they played at Glastonbury but were shut down after two songs because lightning hit the stage .. so they played acoustically from atop a speaker (using a bullhorn for vocals). The question was asked: “So how was the feedback?” Ty, the singer responded, “There wasn’t any because there was no electricity.”

HA! No, not really. Instead I’ve asked this to be sent to him.  Great folks. Hope they kill.
