Slipknot’s Knotfest Ready To Rock

Slipknot announces its plans to a waiting nation, for the first time setting multiple nights at a single U.S. venue.  Planned for October in Southern California, the lineup includes Danzig, Five Finger Death Punch, Volbeat, Anthrax, and, of course, Slipknot.

Oct. 24-26 at San Bernardino’s San Manuel Amphitheatre and campgrounds is what you want to enter into your digital scheduler.  With Slipknot playing two special Saturday and Sunday late-night closing sets, the roster also shouts at you with Killswitch Engage, Black Label Society, Testament, Tech N9ne, Of Mice And Men, In This Moment, Atreyu, Carcass and more.

Knotfest began in 2012 as two one-day festivals held in Pacific Junction, Iowa, and Somerset, Wis.  After skipping 2013, Slipknot announced earlier this year that it had slotted Knotfest in Japan at Chiba’s Makuhari Messe Nov. 15-16.

Powered by Rockstar Energy Drink, the U.S. Knotfest will feature a Slipknot-curated lineup of more than 60 bands spread out over five stages.  For fans who purchase VIP or camping packages there will be a pre-party bash featuring performances by Suicide Silence, The Black Dahlia Murder, Butcher Babies and other acts Oct. 24.

“Knotfest is a chance for Slipknot to bring the sensory-overload of a wild European festival – and now we’re coming for you, California,” the band’s M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan said.  “Playing two different sets over two nights at one location is a new experience in the history of this band.  This year’s Knotfests in the U.S. and Japan are going to be on another level.”

Along with wall-to-wall metal, Slipknot is promising an “apocalyptic underworld” with more than 20 festival attractions.  Included are carnival rides, a zip line across the festival grounds, drum circles, pillars of fire and more. And don’t forget to check out the Slipknot Museum, curated by the band.

Tickets, including a limited supply of early bird discounted two-day and one-day passes, are available now.  VIP packages go on sale July 9 at 10 a.m. PDT.  Visit Knotfest.com for all you need to know.
