Breeders Slot New Dates For New Music

Since The Breeders spent much of 2013 touring the globe playing a 20-year-old album, the band plans on presenting new material during its next outing.

Of course, it wasn’t just any album.  The long player in last year’s spotlight was 1993’s Last Splash, the band’s second studio album which went platinum one year after release.

Now the group – Kim Deal, Kelley Deal, Jim Macpherson and Josephine Wiggs – is promising brand new material for its next road trip.  Beginning Sept. 2 in Chuck Berry’s hometown, the journey includes shows in Colorado, Utah, Oregon and Seattle.  Last stop is a Hollywood Bowl extravaganza where The Breeders will be joined by violinist Carrie Bradley on an evening where Neutral Milk Hotel tops the ticket.

Here’s the routing:

Sept. 2 – St. Louis, Mo., Off Broadway
Sept. 3 – Kansas City, Mo., The Record Bar
Sept. 5 – Denver, Colo., Summit Music Hall
Sept. 7 – Salt Lake City, Utah, Urban Lounge
Sept. 8 – Garden City, Idaho, Visual Arts Collective
Sept. 10 – Seattle, Wash., The Showbox
Sept. 11 – Portland, Ore., Wonder Ballroom
Sept. 13 – San Jose, Calif., C2SV Technology Conference + Music Festival
Sept. 16 – Phoenix, Ariz., The Crescent Ballroom
Sept. 17 – San Diego, Calif., The Casbah
