Raggamuffin Moving To Auckland

The Dec. 13 Raggamuffin festival in New Zealand this year moves to Auckland from its home of seven years, Rotorua.

The venue will be finalized shortly. Promoter McManus Entertainment teamed with Auckland-based hip-hop empire Dawn Raid Entertainment.

Its director Danny “Brotha D” Leaosavai’I said, “We wanted to assist bringing in new changes that will enhance Raggamuffin, not only with the best line-up for any festival this summer but also a new venue.”

This year’s event has a two-stage format, one for reggae acts, the other for urban music.

The first two headliners announced were UB40 and Ice Cube.

Also on the bill are Pacific reggae artist Fiji, Jamaica’s Etana and Chronixx, British reggae artist Gappy Ranks teaming with New Zealand’s chart-topping MC P-Money and local bands KatchafireAaradhna, Sammy Johnson featuring Brownhill, House of Shem and Tomorrow People.
