Sonisphere Crowns Pieroni’s Success
Selling out the 30,000-capacity Sonisphere at Rome’s Ippodromo Capannelle July 1 rounded off two weeks’ worth of sold-out rock shows by Live Nation Italy’s Andrea Pieroni.
The Rome lineup had Metallica, Alice In Chains, Volbeat, and Kvelertak.
On June 18, Pieroni’s summer program started with Black Sabbath, Black Label Society, and Reignwolf selling out the 10,000-capacity Unipol Arena in Bologna.
On the following two days he also filled Turin’s 7,000-capacity Palaolimpico and Rome’s 8,500-capacity Pala Olimpico with Thirty Seconds To Mars.
On June 25, there was another 30,000-capacity sellout at Milan’s Fiera De Milano for Aerosmith, Alter Bridge, Extreme, Walking Papers, and Treatment.
