We Were Promised Jetpacks Ready For Fall

We Were Promised Jetpacks lays down two months of dates set for October through November to go along with the indie Scottish band’s new album.

Scheduled for a fall release on Fat Cat Records, Unravelling is the title of the new disc.  The band recently premiered the LP’s lead track – “Safety In Numbers” – via Entertainment Weekly and SoundCloud.

We Were Promised Jetpacks worked with Paul Savage, whose credits include Teenage Fanclub, Franz Ferdinand, King Creosote, The Twilight Sad and MogwaiUnravelling was recorded at Glasgow’s Chem19 Studios.

“It was a fairly straightforward decision to work with Paul,” lead vocalist Adam Thompson said.  “He had some plenty of brilliant work and we had worked with him for a few days before recording our first album and always remembered enjoying recording with him.  I’m really chuffed with that decision.  I think Paul has done a great job and it’s the first time we’ve ever been present to mix the album with the same person who recorded it, which has been an enjoyable and much more relaxing experience for us.”

The album also marks the addition of multi-instrumentalist Stuart McGachan to the band.
