Club Owner Death Reinvestigated

A high-end prostitute from Atlanta who has been accused of giving a Google exec a fatal injection of heroin has caused police to take another look at the death of club owner Dean Riopelle.

Riopelle, who ran the popular Atlanta club The Masquerade, died last fall of an apparent heart attack. However, an investigator with the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office recently told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Riopelle died of “heroin, Oxycodone and ethanol toxicity.”

The call girl, Alix Tichelman, was dating Riopelle at the time of his death and was arrested two weeks earlier for biting him.

Tichelman is facing drug and manslaughter charges in California for the November death of Google executive Forrest Hayes.

Hayes died of an apparent heroin overdose on his yacht in Santa Cruz. Tichelman, who was lured back to California in a prostitution sting, is being held on $1.5 million bond, according to the Journal-Constitution.

Police said that Tichelman called 911 on Sept. 17 to report Riopelle had overdosed after drinking and using heroin all day.

She said she found him on the floor after she got out of the shower and tried to revive him for five minutes, according to the New York Daily News. Riopelle was also a performer who used the stage name 13 and was a member of The Impotent Sea Snakes.
