The Miracle Of Kimbra
The New Zealand artist, who now calls the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles home, is getting ready to release her sophomore album, The Golden Echo. Due out Aug. 19 in the U.S. via Warner Bros. Records, the LP includes a little bit of everything “from Prince-like funk to sing-songy electro-pop to eerie space-age hip-hop.”
Kimbra produced The Golden Echo with Rich Costey, who has worked with Foster The People, Interpol and Muse. Guest contributors include R&B singer Bilal, Queens Of The Stone Age bassist Michael Shuman and string arranger Van Dyke Parks.
Check out the audio for the track “Miracle,” which debuted this week and features bassist Thundercat, Silverchair’s Daniel Johns and drummer John JR Robinson (Michael Jackson, Daft Punk).
