Wasting Away In Biloxi
Unable to secure plans to construct a hotel and suffering from a less than ideal location, Margaritaville Casino & Restaurant in Biloxi, Miss., will close by Sept. 19.

Owners had planned to add $64 million to build a hotel and overhaul the casino, but elected instead to shut it down. The current owners intend to sell the property, which employed 359 people.
The facility opened in May 2012 and is the newest of 12 along Mississippi’s Gulf Coast.
