Pyne Steps Down
George Pyne, president of IMG Sports and Entertainment, has exited the company in the wake of its acquisition by WME, and says he will launch a new venture.
Pyne said he will remain a senior adviser to the company, according to a statement.
WME purchased the sports firm for $2.2 billion and Pyne praised the agency’s Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitesell as “entrepreneurs and dynamic leaders.”
They, in turn, said they were looking forward to working with Pyne “in this next chapter.”
