Rain Happens

An inaugural event in Wrightsville, Pa., that was to take place Aug. 22-24 was rescheduled because of rain.
Blame it on the rain

Make that because there was a chance it could rain.

The Central PA Music Fest, which had about 110 regional acts, was scheduled “rain or shine” but promoter Nick Song pulled the plug Aug. 17 because of the threat of rain, according to the York Dispatch.

Song said he didn’t know that the owners of the venue, Lauxmont Farms in Lower Windsor Township, wanted to preserve the grounds, which could be damaged by a muddy event.

At the time of the postponement, the forecast was for a 30 percent chance of rain Aug. 22 and clear skies the other two days.

“Not since Milli Vanilli has ‘blame it on the rain’ sounded rather suspect,” musician Elijah Cross told the paper, adding that it was becoming clear that “there is no money to pay everyone who was told they’d be paid, and that’s the reason for what I think will officially become a cancellation of this event.”
