Drusky’s Big Day
Drusky, a veteran of DiCesare Engler and founder of Drusky Entertainment, is being honored for his contributions to local charities through fundraising benefits.
He was presented with the proclamation by city councilwoman Theresa Kail Smith at Council Chambers at 10 a.m. today, April 29.
Drusky has shared his day with an 8-year-old boy with an inoperable brain tumor, so it is also known as Joey Fabus Day.
The promoter began in the business in 1995 when he founded Landslide Entertainment, where he booked and managed local bands and produced records. In 1997, he joined DiCesare Engler as a promoter, then left to create Drusky Entertainment in 2006. The company promoted about 500 shows last year.
The proclamation reads: “Now, therefore be it resolved, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Brian Drusky for his commitment to bringing diversity in music to Pittsburgh and for the various charitable events he organizes; and, be it further resolved, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Friday, August 29th 2014, to be ‘Brian Drusky and Drusky Entertainment Day.'”
