Birds of Tokyo, Vance Joy Continue Aussie Assault

Chart-topping acts Birds of Tokyo and singer-songwriter Vance Joy are the latest Aussies to work the U.S. market.

Birds of Tokyo returns with Ireland’s Kodaline starting Oct. 2 at Houston’s House of Blues.

The 22 dates wind Nov. 11 at  NYC and include stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Detroit and Boston. Earlier this year, the group’s Aussie triple platinum hit “Lanterns” made the U.S. alternative songs chart.

The video for the track has 1.4 million YouTube hits and the song is and featured in the trailer for the new Oprah Winfrey/Steven Spielberg-produced film, “The Hundred Foot Journey.”

Vance Joy, who inked a five-album deal with Atlantic for the U.S. on the back of his triple platinum Aussie success with the “Riptide” single, returns to the U.S. behind the Sept. 9 release of debut album Dream Your Life Away. He does Boston Sept. 11 and Philadelphia Sept. 13 before playing the UK and Europe Sept. 21 to Oct.12.

More U.S. and Canada dates follow for the 26-year-old, beginning Oct. 13 at  in Dallas and winding Nov. 28 in Los Angeles.
