Boomtown Rats In The U.S.
No, you’re not hallucinating. Ireland’s Boomtown Rats are coming to America. The downside is the band fronted by Live Aid founder Bob Geldof is only playing two cities. More after the jump.
Having reformed for a tour of the U.K and Ireland last year, The Boomtown Rats will perform their first shows in the U.S. since the 1980s.
The plan calls for The Boomtown Rats to play two East Coast cities this month, headlining the Big Session Events presented by Smithwick’s Irish Ale. You’ll find The Rats at New York’s Terminal 5 Sept. 26 and at The Royale in Boston Sept. 28.
The shows will include other acts from the Emerald Isle – The Stunning and Mundy. The gigs will be hosted by Irish actor/comedian Joe Rooney.
