Marsha Vlasic On Her Own – For Now
ICM’s head of worldwide music, Steve Levine, alerted the company via email Sept. 5 that Vlasic has left the company under amicable conditions.
Vlasic came to ICM in 2008 when the company acquired her agency, MVO. She brought with her Ozzy Osbourne, Elvis Costello, Moby, Ben Folds, Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, Muse, Neil Young, Regina Spektor, Van Morrison and The Strokes. It was a homecoming of sorts because Vlasic had previously worked at ICM before heading out on her own. Osbourne is currenlty with WME.
She was named head of the company’s contemporary rock division. A year later, ICM acquired Robin Taylor’s Inland Empire Touring, bringing in Modest Mouse, The Hold Steady, !!! and The Shins, and hired Nick Storch from The Agency Group, and both agents reported to Vlasic.
Speculation is that Vlasic may be heading to a boutique agency or possibly return to the independence of being her own boss again.
