Teresa and Charles Neal were on the lawn area when a fight broke out, according to the lawsuit. People involved in the altercation “came down the lawn and struck” her, “causing severe injury,” according to the Oakland Press.

Security guards attempted to break up the fight but the intervention caused one or both men involved in the fight to roll down the hill, where Theresa Neal was standing.

She required surgery for a broken leg and may require further surgery, according to the lawsuit. She also says she suffered emotional distress and aggravation of preexisting conditions including a torn meniscus and arthritis in her left knee. She will also suffer “extreme, intense bodily pain” for the rest of her life, according to the lawsuit.

The Neals claim Palace Sports & Entertainment failed to provide a safe environment, respond reasonably or provide proper training to security guards.

They have spent ‘large sums of money” for medical care and seek an award in excess of $25,000, according to the paper. PS&E declined to comment.

The lawsuit comes a few weeks after a person died at the venue, apparently during some rough-housing, according to the victim’s son.
