Released as a double album in 1976, Songs in the Key of Life included such hits as “Sir Duke,” “I Wish” and “Isn’t She Lovely.”  The album came near the end of Wonder’s most prolific period.  Up until that time he had released an album per year for almost every year of his professional recording career.  His next studio album, a soundtrack titled Stevie Wonder’s Journey Through “The Secret Life of Plants,” would not arrive until 1979.
