Inaugural Aussie iHeartRadio Fest Canceled

The Miley Cyrus-starring inaugural was canceled today Sept. 11.

A joint statement by Australian Radio Network and Dainty Group explained, “This is as a consequence of the unavailability of another headline act, who was due to be announced this week.”

The six-hour show of live music and DJ sets was to happen Oct. 18 at Sydney’.

Acts announced included Cody Simpson, Aussie pop group At Sunset, rapper  and DJ duo

Tickets went on sale Sept. 4. “Our objective for this first iHeartRadio Australia Music Festival was to create the very best experience possible for music lovers, and when this wasn’t possible, the difficult but necessary decision was made to cancel,” the statement added.

iHeartRadio launched in Australia late 2013 as its first territory outside the United States. Cyrus’ “Bangerz” Australian arena run through Dainty (Oct. 10-23) is not affected.
