Royal Farms has reportedly agreed to pay $250,000 per year for five years to secure title sponsorship on the 14,000-seat arena.
The venue was previously known as 1st Mariner Arena but a deal with 1st Mariner Bancorp expired in 2013.
SMG manages the arena and would receive $200,000 of the $1.25 million contract plus a $50,000 finder’s fee if the city signs off on the agreement, according to the Baltimore Sun.
The city has been considering renovating the building or building a new arena to help attract an NBA franchise.
The new agreement would give Royal Farms first crack at naming rights should a new arena be built, the paper said.
