Garth Brooks Sets His Sights On Kentucky

Garth Brooks’ big return to the touring world now includes a fourth city on the routing. The Bluegrass State will get its chance to host the country legend starting in late October. So far two shows have been set in Kentucky but there’s a good chance more are coming.

For now, you can count on Brooks playing Lexington, Ky., Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at the Rupp Arena. Both shows are scheduled at 6:30 p.m.

We’ll have to wait and see if more performances are booked. Additional shows were added to all three of his previously announced stops following the initial announcements for Chicago, Atlanta and Jacksonville, Fla.

Brooks’ first excursion since he retired from recording and performing in 2000 launched with a Sept. 4 gig at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill. The world tour features Brooks’ wife, Trisha Yearwood. The residency at Allstate Arena, which marked the first time he had played the Chicago area in 17 years, consisted of 11 shows, concluding with Sunday’s concert.

The next destination on the itinerary is Atlanta’s Philips Arena, where Brooks has seven performances to do Sept. 19-21 and Sept. 26-27. Two gigs are booked on both Sept. 19 and 20, with shows held at 6:30 and 10:30 p.m.

Brooks takes the stage in Jacksonville, Fla., at the Veterans Memorial Arena Oct. 10-12 and Oct. 16-18.

Tickets for Lexington go on sale Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. EDT.
