Changes: Diana Krall, Rascal Flatts
Complications brought on by a severe case of pneumonia have resulted in Diana Krall postponing her U.S. fall tour. Supporting her new album, Wallflower, Krall was going to launch an extensive coast-to-coast journey in Phoenix Nov. 7 and had dates scheduled through Dec. 14.
Word from the Krall camp is her ailment is “more chronic than first anticipated” and the artist needs another six weeks to two months to recuperate.
But the tour isn’t the only thing pushed back. The new long player was scheduled for an October 21 release. Now the disc won’t be released until Feb. 3.
“I’m deeply saddened that I will have to postpone the release of my new album Wallflower and the ‘Wallflower U.S. Tour’ until next year,” Krall said. “I have been battling a severe case of pneumonia and am under doctor’s orders to rest for the next few months in order to regain my strength and good health.
“Performing is both a privilege and a joy for me. When I go out on stage I want to be able to give it everything. Taking this time to rest and recuperate will allow me to do that. It is frustrating to be so close to the record release and have to delay but I am very proud of this record and want to be able to give you all my very best when we finally present this music to you. Thank you so much for your understanding.”

No illness, no scheduling conflict, no reason has been given for the cancellation of Rascal Flatts’ show at the brand new PPL Center in Allentown, Pa. The only word from the band and the venue is that the show is canceled and refunds are available.
The cancellation is the second disruption in the new venue’s roll-out. LehighValleyLive.com/The Express Times points out that the hockey arena, which opened its doors Sept. 12, was to host Cher Sept. 15. But the diva’s acute viral infection that forced the postponement of several shows also resulted in moving the PPL date to Dec. 2. That’s life for you … always filled with surprises.
