Queen + Adam Lambert Back On The Road

Queen and Adam Lambert are taking their partnership into 2015. The tour is returning to Europe, where the live journey started with a handful of gigs in 2012. Lambert says the show is now “definitely more of a production.”

Earlier this month Queen + Adam Lambert wrapped a run of summer dates that included performances in Canada, the U.S., Australia and New Zealand.

The Brisbane Times caught the Sept. 1 show at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Boondall, Australia.

“With a rock ‘n’ roll show combining reunion, tribute and baton-passing facets, Queen and Adam Lambert delivered just over two hours of pure sensation straight into the nerves and bones of anyone fortunate enough to witness it,” the paper wrote. “Freddie may be gone, but he would surely approve”

Queen + Adam Lambert will kick off 2015 with a Jan. 13 gig in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. After a batch of U.K. shows, the outing makes its way through Europe with dates in France, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Denmark, Czech Republic and Switzerland.

“On the technical side, it’s definitely more of a production than two years ago,” Lambert says. “We’ve had a lot more cities to visit and so I think we all decided to build up the visuals and the stage accordingly, and of course we do all the hits.”

Brian May and Roger Taylor also had a few words to share about the tour.

“We have a very interesting set design,” says May. “It’s big and daring. We’re going to do it to the max.”

Taylor adds, “Each time we’ve worked with Adam with our music, he’s just the most incredible front man. He’s sensational. He has this amazing range, ‘cause Freddie had a great range. Adam can really cover it. He’s an extraordinary singer and a real talent. I feel he fits into our sort of theatricality. It is very comfortable.”
