Ticketmaster Gets Benicassim

UK promoters Denis Desmond of MCD and Simon Moran of Manchester-based SJM Concerts have started to ring the changes at Spain’s Benicassim Festival, moving ticketing operations over to Ticketmaster.

The festival had previously used a number of ticket firms spread across 13 European territories, but Live Nation-owned Ticketmaster is able to cover all the markets.

Ticketmaster, which has outlets in 19 countries, has come on board to help grow Benicassim’s audience in Spain and throughout Europe.

“Benicassim grows in popularity every year and we are excited to be working with a ticket agent that can handle the current demand, as well as helping us to grow our brand and event,” said Benicassim director Melvin Benn.

Desmond and Moran bought a majority share of Benicassim from Irish promoter Vince Power in July 2013.
