Taylor Swift has signed on to NBC’s “The Voice” to mentor aspiring young singers.  Swift’s first appearance on the talent competition will be Oct. 27, which also happens to be the day her new 1989 album is released. According to Associated Press, Swift will appear on three episodes of the program advising contestants on topics such as vocal techniques, stage presence and song selection.

Gathering artists from the U.S. and Latin America, the first takes place in Los Angeles at the Shrine Expo Hall Oct. 11. Included in the event’s christening are Café Tacvba, Calle 13, Nortec Collective Presents: Bostich + Fussible, Ana Tijoux, Bomba Estéreo, La Santa Cecilia, La Vida Bohéme, Deorro, Ritmo Machine with Sen Dog (of Cypress Hill), and Sick Jacken (Psycho Realm), Los Rakas, AJ Davila, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, Maria Y José, Lizzo, Subsuelo, Ceci Bastida, Raul Campos, Anthony Valadez, Kita Klane, Los Master Plus, Los Macuanos, Jungle Fire and others.

“We wanted to see something like Coachella happen for the Latin market,” said AEG Live/Goldenvoice VP of Latin Talent, Rebeca León.

Cage The Elephant will headline an episode of public television’s “Live From The Artists Den.”

It all happens in Santa Barbara Oct. 15.  Although no venue has been announced for what is essentially a private performance, “Live From The Artists Den” is accepting RSVPs from fans hoping to snag tickets.  Click here for more info.

Rock En Seine Festival, Paris, France

Lita Ford, producer Bob Kulick, Ratt’s Bobby Blotzer and Megadeth’s Chris Broderick are among the keglers announced for the Celebrity Rock ‘N Bowl at Pinz Bowling Center in Los Angeles Oct. 9.

Raising funds for cancer research, the T.J. Martell Foundation event is chaired by Wendy Dio, president and co-founder of the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund.  Dio also serves on the T.J. Martell  Foundation Board.

Among those displaying their skills on the lanes will be Stone Sour’s Christian Martucci (Stone Sour), Craig Goldy (Dio), Dino Cazarea (Fear Factory), Fee Waybill (The Tubes), Armored Saint members Gonzo Sandoval, Joey Vera and John Bush, former Asia vocalist/bassist John Payne and many others.  Registered guests will bowl with the celebs and perhaps pick up a few tips on how to act like a rock star while converting the dreaded 7-10 split.

Gov’t Mule continues its tradition of ringing out the old while ringing in the new at New York’s Beacon Theatre.  Scheduled for Dec. 30-31, the shows will feature a guest appearance by Myles Kennedy.
