Ligabue Comes To America

Ligabue has a long list of accomplishments from opening a few nights for U2 to setting a record for tickets sold for a single concert in Europe. But one thing the Italian singer/songwriter has never done is tour North America. That will change later this month.

The brief excursion begins in Rama, Ontario, Oct. 18 before heading to the States. Ligabue’s debut run of U.S. dates will include gigs on both coasts with stops in New York, West Hollywood, San Francisco and Miami.

The rocker, who has been called the Italian Bruce Springsteen, has put out 10 studio albums. His latest, Mondovisione, was released in 2013. All of his Ligabue’s albums have been certified multi-platinum in Italy.

Ligabue is a man of many talents. In addition to his musical skills, he’s also a film director and published author. His film debut, 1998’s “Radiofreccia,” was screened at the Venice Film Festival and picked up trophies for screenplay and direction at Italy’s Nastri d’Argento and the Davide di Donatello Awards.

Here’s the plan for the U.S. tour:

Oct. 18 – Rama, Ontario, Casino Rama Entertainment Centre
Oct. 19 – New York, N.Y., Terminal 5
Oct. 22 – West Hollywood, Calif., Whisky A Go Go
Oct. 24 – San Francisco, Calif., DNA Lounge
Oct. 26 – Miami, Fla., Grand Central

Tickets are available now.
