Miss. FrogFest, Chili Cook-Off On Oct 25
The fourth annual FrogFest, which was launched in honor the late Leland native, Jim Henson, who created the Muppets, will again coincide with the Deer Creek Chili Cook-off.
The Leland Chamber of Commerce is putting the finishing touches on the events, set for Oct. 25.
Chamber officials tell the Delta Democrat-Times the Chili Cook-off is expected to draw 25 teams competing for a $500 grand prize.
The event will feature a kids fun run, train rides around Deer Creek, a bounce house and Kermit the Frog-themed arts activities conducted by the Greenville Junior Auxiliary, Delta State University arts students and artisan Donna Smith.
Festival-goers also will be treated to live music by bluesman Bill Able, alternative-country band Lazy River Band and bluegrass band Breaking Grass.
