Trey Anastasio Band Rolls Out Fall Dates

The late November/early December outing marks Trey Anastasio Band’s second trek of the year. Reverb blogger Jason Blevins caught TAB’s tour kick-off show at Denver’s Ogden Theatre.

“Flanked by a deep horn section and tight rhythm, Anastasio dazzled the Ogden on Tuesday and Wednesday, unleashing new tunes like the funky “Bounce,” the acoustic “Silver Smoke,” and the melancholy “Pulsing Days” that likely will find homes in the Phish rotation,” Blevins wrote.

TAB is showing off new music from its upcoming LP, Paper Wheels, which is due out in early 2015. The album was recorded in less than a week at Anastasio’s rehearsal/recording studio dubbed The Barn in reference to its former life. Anastasio and the band recorded the songs live, with many tunes completed in no more than one or two takes. Paper Wheels was produced and engineered by Bryce Goggin, who is behind several Phish albums and has also worked with Anastasio on his previous solo projects. Elliot Scheiner, whose resume includes Steely Dan and Van Morrison, mixed the LP.
