Nugent Cancellation Nets Settlement
Nugent was booked to play the Clark County Fair in April but some in the community began expressing concerns whether the Motor City Madman was a good fit for the family-friendly event.
A petition circulated to have him removed from the lineup and he was taken off in August and paid $30,000. Northwest Events & Marketing, which booked the show, covered the settlement, the paper said.
This isn’t the first time one of Nugent’s shows was canceled amid controversy. A Native American tribe in Idaho pulled the plug on an August show over the rocker’s “racist and hate-filled remarks” and the city of Longview, Texas, paid him more than $16,000 to cancel a fourth of July show.
