Ozzy’s 9/11 Comments Twisted By Daily Mail
Well, at least he didn’t say it to the Daily Mail, which ran his quotes anyway and published them on its online edition.
According to the Mail, when interviewed on the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the U.S., the Black Sabbath frontman said: “I wasn’t scared, I was excited – it was my kind of craziness.”
However, in the original interview with UK weekly free-issue magazine Shortlist, Osbourne’s comments appear to refer to the day after the attack, when he felt as if he was alone in New York.
“I never spoke to The Mail. Several quotes were pulled from another interview and were taken out of context,” Ozzy said in a recent statement. “You would think that at my age I would finally realize that any conversation with a journalist can be twisted, reprinted and made into another story. It’s another life lesson learned.”
He claimed he attempted to have the story removed from the Mail’s website, but his request was refused.
“Now it’s been picked up worldwide because of the sensational slant The Mail put on the story,” he says. Nevertheless, Osbourne has apologized for any offense his remarks may have caused.
