George Winston’s Seasonal Plans
Promising “melodic fall and winter type songs,” Winston’s repertoire for the upcoming outing will include a few of Vince Guaraldi’s “Peanuts” pieces as well as songs from his upcoming LP, Spring Carousel – A Cancer Research Benefit, which is scheduled for a 2015 release.
Winston’s last two albums, 2012’s Gulf Coast Blues & Impressions 2 – A Louisiana Wetlands Benefit and 2006’s Gulf Coast Blues & Impressions – A Hurricane Relief Benefit, are still raising monies for victims of Hurricane Katrina and The Voice Of The Wetlands, respectively.
Winston is always raising money for food banks and service organizations, a passion of his since 1986. In December 2013 he released the digital single “Silent Night – A Benefit For Feeding America” with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Feeding America organization. The song is available on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play.
Working with food banks in every market, Winston holds canned food drives at this shows, so be sure to bring a tin or two. The artist also donates 100 percent of his merch dollars to local food banks.
