Charli XCX

Charli XCX could be a human perpetual motion machine. And according to Paradigm agent Marty Diamond, she is.

The 22-year-old British singer/songwriter is not exactly a newcomer to the music scene, having a hand in the writing of hits like Icona Pop’s “I Love It” in 2012 and Iggy Azalea’s current smash “Fancy.”

But she’s got a performing history, too, opening tours for Coldplay, Paramore, and Marina and the Diamonds as a teenager in addition to headlining shows in her native Britain and beyond.

“She’s a performer, she’s a writer, she’s a style icon. She’s a lot of things at this point and she’s a kid, even though it feels like we’ve never taken a break working on her in three years,” Diamond told Pollstar.

Diamond’s assembled a team to work with Charlie XCX, including fellow Paradigm agents Matt Galle – who first brought her to his attention – and Ash Mowry-Lewis. CODA’s James Whitting handles bookings on the other side of the pond, while Various Artists Management’s David Bianchi handles management duties.

“This is not somebody who struggles with a work ethic at all,” Diamond said. “She’s constantly working, writing or performing. She has hit with ‘Boom Clap’ out now, another single, ‘Break the Rules,’ riding up the charts, an album [Sucker] out the first of the year, and a sold-out tour with a lot of opportunities in front of us,” Diamond continued.

“She was already working well in advance of any writing opportunities. She supported Coldplay, Marina and the Diamonds, she headlined. There’s been lots of touring that goes back years. She’s been in perpetual motion.”

Charli XCX is currently wrapping a U.S. club tour before going out on the Jingle Ball tour of radio shows. She kicks off 2015 in Europe before returning stateside combining headline dates and festivals. Diamond says he and his team are already discussing packaging opportunities for her as well, “with the view of building a massive headline career for her.”
