Administrator Chases Kylie Deposits
Administrator Thomas Kühn of rw konzept GmbH says he’s trying to claw back the deposits because of the last-minute nature of the cancellation of the shows in Cologne, Munich, Berlin and Hamburg Oct. 22-28.
Kühn says he’d been in “a lively exchange” with Minogue’s management right up to the time of the cancellation and he’s prepared to go to court to protect the interests of Creative’s creditors.
Alexander Schmidt, Kühn’s spokesman at rw konzept, told Pollstar that his company believes that no money should be paid to Minogue if she doesn’t perform the dates. It’s believed that rw konzept was negotiating for top German promoter Marek Lieberberg to take over the running of the shows.
“I am extremely disappointed that due to financial difficulties of the German promoter CT Creative Talent GmbH, I am unable to perform the scheduled shows in Cologne, Munich, Berlin and Hamburg,” Minogue said in a statement on her website Oct. 17. “The administrator who is now controlling CT Creative Talent GmbH is unable to confirm that we have the venues and facilities needed to be able to put on the shows.”
Kühn admits it’s “unclear” how Minogue’s German dates would have been funded.
Schmidt confirmed that fewer than 12,000 tickets had been sold out of a total gross capacity of 68,000. Minogue’s agent, Emma Banks from Creative Artist Agency’s London office, says that at the moment she has no comment.
Minogue’s next dates are at O2 Arena in Prague Oct. 21, followed by the recently opened Atlas Arena in Lódz, Poland, Oct. 30.
