Canadians Charged In Ticket Fraud
Three people were arrested in southern Alberta, Canada, in connection with a scam masquerading as a ticket brokerage that swindled dozens of victims of some $250,000.
Seat Crave Ltd. Operator Donna Pearl Stinn Friesen of Stirling, Alberta, and two others were arrested after the alleged 2013 fraud, according to a CTV report.
Investigators reportedly found Friesen and two accomplices “attempted to coerce individuals to invest in Seat Crave Ltd. Or to purchase tickets to upcoming events.”
Those who thought they had bought tickets from Seat Crave Ltd. often received counterfeits or the tickets never arrived. Investors in the scam did not receive any return on their investment, according to CTV.
