Man Sentenced For Nightclub Killing
A man who pleaded guilty to killing a security guard at Denver area nightclub The Grizzly Rose in December 2008 has been sentenced to 32 years in prison.
Prosecutors say Gerald Michael Anthony Gurule was sentenced Oct. 20 after pleading guilty in June to reckless manslaughter and first-degree assault.
Authorities say he went to the nightclub to break into cars in the parking lot, then opened fire when confronted by security guards, killing Timothy Minnick.
A woman who drove the getaway car was sentenced in May to life in prison.
The case went cold until a grand jury indictment last year. Gurule avoided a similar sentence by accepting a plea agreement. Two other men were linked to the slaying but chargers were dropped, according to Denver Post.
