Fake Tickets, Merch Seized

Three people from New York and another from Atlanta were arrested in the ticket scheme, the Johnson County District Attorney’s office said in a news release.

Counterfeit items seized by agents included baseball caps, cellphone cases, sweatshirts, baby clothes and women’s underwear featuring the phrase “Take the Crown” and “KC” across the rear.

Peregrine Honig, who owns the store where the panties were confiscated, told the Kansas City Star two men visited her shop. “I asked one of them what size he needed and he showed me a badge and took me outside,” she said. “They told me they were from Homeland Security and we were violating copyright laws.”
