White Rabbit Sale Prompts Suit

The former promoter for a club in San Antonio, Texas, is attempting to stop a sale of the venue through a breach-of-contract lawsuit.

Jennifer Holt filed suit against  owners Rhonda Moore and Richard Sciaraffa, according to court documents obtained by the San Antonio Current, alleging they’d agreed to give her a 25 percent stake in the venue for her work as a promoter.

The pair is reportedly planning to sell the White Rabbit to a real estate group that owns several restaurants.

The suit claims Sciaraffa and Moore attempted to close the deal without telling her about the sale “for their own personal gain without compensating Plaintiff for the monies and work she had performed in good faith under the contract, consistent with the twenty five percent (25%) interest to which she was lawfully entitled.”

The filing continues to say that although Holt continued to work for the venue, the pair “refused to pay her compensation for the work she performed. Instead, Defendants engaged in demeaning subversive bullying tactics and unreasonable behavior to create an atmosphere of hostility and abuse, aimed at perpetrating further fraud against Plaintiff.”

Holt eventually quit her position at the White Rabbit. In a statement on Facebook she wrote that “I will continue to work on shows in the San Antonio market, and hope to see you all again soon. Thank you for the wonderful 12+ years, but this decision is what I believe to be best for both the White Rabbit and me at this time.”

The suit is seeking damages and an injunction preventing the completion of the sale, the Current said. ?
