In specific terms, the money will be spent to redevelop Fantasyland at Tokyo Disneyland and build a “new themed port” and additional attractions at DisneySea, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Both theme parks are located within the same tract of land just outside the Tokyo city limits.

Last year Tokyo Disneyland surpassed the original Anaheim Disneyland in attendance, symbolizing the growth of theme parks throughout Asia.

Consequently, Disney management has decided it must carry out facilities investment to keep its two parks at the cutting edge of amusement park technology in the region.
