Battle Of The Beach Fests

The Croatian beachfest market got a little more competitive as Ibiza Rocks announced a new event on the Adriatic island of Pag.

Croatia Rocks will be on Zrce Beach, near Novalja, July 20-23. Ibiza Rocks has taken place on the Spanish island for the last 10 years. The new fest will compete for market dominance against the likes of Hideout Festival, which is also on Pag, Outlook, Garden Festival, Electric Elephant, Ultra Europe, Soundwave, and Dimensions.

Croatia didn’t have much of an outdoor market to attract international talent, apart from INMusic Festival in Zagreb, until the electronic music festivals started springing up along its picturesque coastline.

The beachfests are usually run by British firms providing flights, accommodation, entertainment and boat trips, often wrapped up like a package holiday.

The majority of the crowd are also Brits, who are just a 2.5-hour flight from the Balkan seaside coast.

“Croatia has clearly evolved from an emerging to an established music destination and it’s long been a wish of ours to bring the spirit of Ibiza Rocks to the beach in Croatia,” said Ibiza Rocks brand director Shane Murray.
