An Evening With Machine Head
“We’re doing ‘An Evening With’ Machine Head. Meaning: it’ll just be us, folks,” guitarist/vocalist Robb Flynn said. “We are really excited about the idea, playing longer sets, throwing in some deep cuts, and just having our own world. Promoters in the US seem really stoked about it, some have said it feels like ‘an event’.”
If you’re interested in seeing Machine Head during this touring cycle, don’t wait to catch the band at a festival – because it’s not going to happen. Don’t expect to see the heavy metal band supporting some other act either. Flynn commented on the band’s plan to play nothing but headline gigs in the immediate future.
“We’re not trying to have a good time with a bunch of people who don’t know who we are. If Machine Head throws a party, big or small, we don’t want a bunch of ‘strangers’ there. This is about us and you guys, the die-hards! The Fucking Undesirables! We don’t care about the others out there. We’re here and we’re not going anywhere, if those people want to be a part of this, they know where to find us. So for the time being, and maybe ‘forever’ we’re done reaching out for them.”
A few days ago Machine Head released its eighth LP, Bloodstone & Diamonds. SiriusXM Liquid Metal is celebrating the occasion with “Machine Head Week.” Tune in to hear tunes from the album all week long, through Nov. 17 at 3 a.m. EST.
You’ll also hear Flynn introduce select tracks the band’s debut, Burn My Eyes, to mark the 20th anniversary of the album. The guitarist/vocalist is also picking out some songs to broadcast from his favorite acts like Exodus, Metallica, Witchcraft and more.
