So far doctors are waiting to see what develops. A throat specialist has ordered Boy George to refrain from singing as “it may necessitate an operation.”
The tour scheduled to launch Nov. 15 in Rancho Mirage, Calif., was supposed to be the first North America outing featuring all original members in 14 years. The U.K. tour was scheduled to begin Dec. 1 in Glasgow, Scotland.
However there is a glimmer of hope in today’s announcement.
“We are hoping we can reschedule the concerts for next year, and hopefully George’s problem will be resolved,” Culture Club members said in a joint statement that wished the singer a “speedy recovery” and thanked fans for their loyalty.
