Reignwolf Reigns Over The West Coast

Reignwolf has planned a brief excursion through the West Coast the last week of December, capping a year that’s featured a support slot on Black Sabbath’s tour, appearances at festivals on both side of the Atlantic, and multiple U.S. tours.

Rolling Stone recently named Reignwolf frontman Jordan Cook one of its “Young Guns” in its series highlighting “the most notable guitarists from the next generation of six-string legends.”

Cook does some shows on his own as a “one-man blues-rock army,” while other performances include his current band – bassist David “Stitch” Rapaport and drummer Joseph Braley.

For now, it’s all about Reignwolf’s live show. Fans are still waiting on a debut album from the act, which has put out a handful of singles.

“The appeal of a Reignwolf show, and the reason that Cook has built up such goodwill with no album and no real exposure in broader pop culture, is wild talent,” Austin360.com writes in its review of Reignwolf’s May 2014 gig at Stubb’s Bar-B-Que in Austin.

“Watching Cook attack ‘Are You Satisfied?’ (the closest thing the band has to a signature song) is supremely satisfying, it turns out. As his fingers attacked the frets, his teeth clenched and he shifted his jaw hard to the left. He came right up to the edge of the stage, sweating sliding down his hair and dripping off of the tangled ends as he rasped ‘Are you satisfied?’ right to the fans in front. The voice was powerful and lived in, and the sonics vibrated the room. Even the audience had the bluesy stank face of getting their money’s worth.”

Before spending New Year’s Eve in Seattle, Reignwolf is headed to San Francisco, Portland and Vancouver. Here’s the plan:

Dec. 26 – San Francisco, Calif., The Independent
Dec. 28 – Portland, Ore., Doug Fir Lounge
Dec. 29 – Vancouver, British Columbia, Venue
Dec. 31 – Seattle, Wash., The Showbox

Tickets are on sale now.
