Taking Back Sunday Gives You New Dates

Taking Back Sunday had a bunch of fun co-headlining with The Used this year, with North American tours in the spring and fall, as well as an August trip to Australia. But in 2015 the band is ready to top the marquee with a U.S. headline trek scheduled February through April.

The jaunt will give the alternative rock band an opportunity to share more tunes from its latest release, Happiness Is. Marking Taking Back Sunday’s sixth studio album, the LP debuted in March at No. 10 on the Nielsen SoundScan chart.

In its 4 out of 5 star review of the album, All Music writes, “Happiness Is shows that they’ve honed their skills, creating a beautifully crafted, well-constructed album that feels like more than merely a collection of songs, but rather an album full of soaring builds and heartbreaking collapses that lends credence to the notion that the best things come to those who wait.”

Taking Back Sunday is spending late November and December playing Europe. The band will celebrate with fans at its first annual Holiday Spectacular shows in Sayreville, N.J., at the Starland Ballroom Dec. 27-28.

The U.S. headline tour begins Feb. 18 in New Orleans. Before we get to the schedule, here’s a few words from vocalist Adam Lazzara.

“Touring is probably the most rewarding thing we do as a band,” says Adam Lazzara. “Being able to look people in the eye and see what these songs means to them as you are playing them is an experience that is hard to describe.

“We’ve done a lot of festival and co-headlining dates since Happiness Is was released, but we are really looking forward to our upcoming headlining dates where we can play a little bit longer and dive into the album and our catalogue a bit more. We also have a few extra tracks from the Happiness Is recording which should be making an appearance around that time.”
