In Puerto Rico, Charges Dropped Against Don Omar

Domestic violence charges have been dropped against Puerto Rico reggaeton star Don Omar.

He was charged in September with two counts of abuse, two counts of threatening a person and gun violations. Police say his 26-year-old girlfriend told investigators he hit her and threatened her with a gun.

But the woman declined to attend any court hearings. A posting appeared on her Facebook account saying she did not wish to pursue the case.

In her absence, the judge granted a Monday request to dismiss charges. But the judge said prosecutors could submit charges again if she changes her mind.

Don Omar did not speak to reporters as he left court.  His real name is William Omar Landron.
