After canceling a Nov. 18 show in Toronto, the indie rockers also called off a Nov. 20 gig in Montreal. Interpol began tweeting updates and photos about the snowstorm Nov. 18. During hour 13 the band members seemed in good spirits with guitarist Daniel Kessler tweeting, “Hour 13 trapped in the snow. Dry goods and vodka. We will make it,” along with a photo of two of the musicians and their emergency supplies.

The band posted the following statement on social media about the Nov. 20 show, which was supposed to take place at Montreal’s Metropolis: “It’s with great regret that we have to announce the cancellation of our show tomorrow night in Montreal. We’ve been stranded in a snowstorm outside of Buffalo for over 40 hours and still don’t know when we’ll be able to move from our current position. We’re disappointed that we won’t be able to visit as scheduled but we’ll make it up to you, Toronto and Montreal. We love you guys. We were really looking forward to the shows.”

NBC News reported that more than 100 cars were trapped in the snowstorm and noted that 140 miles of Interstate 90 remain closed.
