‘British Invasion Tour’ Celebrates Five Decades Of Music

Peter Asher of Peter & Gordon and Denny Laine of The Moody Blues and Wings fame top the lineup for the beginning on the East Coast in February.

Also taking you back to the days when many of the acts on radio’s Top 40 spoke with English accents will be Chad & Jeremy, Billy J. Kramer, Mike Pender’s Searchers and Terry Sylvester of The Hollies.  Asher will serve as master of ceremonies.

There are a lot of hits in that lineup.  Managed by Beatles guiding hand Brian Epstein, Kramer found success with then-unreleased John Lennon / Paul McCartney compositions, including “Do You Want To Know A Secret?” and “I’ll Be On my Way.” Laine sang on The Moody Blues single “Go Now” and Chad & Jeremy scored big with “A Summer Song,” “Willow Weep For Me” and “Before and After.”

But wait, there’s more.  The Searchers’ list of hits includes “Sweets For My Sweet, “Sugar & Spice” and a cover of the Clovers’ “Love Potion No. 9.”  Sylvester replaced Graham Nash in The Hollies and sang on the group’s recording of “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother.”

The artists will be supported by a top-notch four-piece backing band plus a full multimedia package presenting rarely seen footage and other archival moments.

“For a fan, this tour is the finest representation possible of the artists and music that touched so many of our lives from the explosive British Invasion,” tour co-producer Andrew Sandoval said.  “Each show is a like a brilliant trip back in time.”
