A Few More Dates: Billy Joel, Dave Matthews Band, Queen/Adam Lambert

Billy Joel offers fans another chance to see him outside of Madison Square Garden … Dave Matthews Band books its first show in Mexico City … Queen + Adam Lambert announce a special New Year’s Eve gig.

Last week Syracuse.com teased readers by saying a “major concert” would soon be announced at Syracuse, N.Y.’s Carrier Dome. Turns out the major artist is the Piano Man, who will take the stage March 20.

As you all know, Billy Joel has an ongoing residency at Madison Square Garden as long as demand lasts. One day per month is currently booked at the venue through July. Joel’s website notes that the Syracuse show will be his only show in the state in 2015 outside of his commitment at The Garden.

And just like the MSG run, the Syracuse gig is a record breaker. The concert is Joel’s 7th at the venue, making him the artist to have played the most shows at the Dome. A banner raising ceremony will be held in Joel’s honor in March.

An American Express card member presale begins Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 9 a.m. EST. The general public onsale is Saturday, Dec. 6 at 9 a.m. EST. Visit BillyJoel.com for more information.

Dave Matthews Band will put on its first performance in Mexico City when it plays Vive Latino March 15.

The festival takes place March 13-15 at the Foro Sol.

Friday, March 13 features sets from Interpol, La Lupita, NOFX, Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters, The Specials, and more.

Along with DMB, Sunday includes Garbage, Aterciopelados, Die Antwoord, Molotov and Jorge Drexler.

Before embarking on their 2015 trek, Queen + Adam Lambert will bid farewell to 2014 with a New Year’s Eve show in London.

The concert will be held at Central Hall Westminster near the iconic Big Ben landmark.

For fans who can’t make it to London, the show will be broadcast live on BBC One, along with the world famous fireworks display along the river Thames.

“I never imagined we would be around to usher in the year of 2015, what a thrill! We promise you a great night,” Roger Taylor says.

Brian May adds, “OK – Let’s rock into 2015!”

Adam Lambert also chimed in with a quote. He says, “Words can’t describe how excited I am, we are going to kick off 2015 in style!”
