Eventim Makes More Money

Even though its third-quarter financial report says the World Cup soccer in Brazil meant fewer concerts were staged, German ticketing giant CTS Eventim is still reporting pre-tax profits up 6.8 percent at euro 89.4 million.

Despite people wanting to stay at home with a few beers and watch their national side lift global soccer’s biggest prize, Eventim’s group revenues for the first three quarters were still 5.7 percent higher at euro 469.3 million.

The second and third quarters of 2014 do appear to have slowed because of the soccer.

However, on the other side, in 2006 when Germany hosted the World Cup soccer finals and Eventim sold the tickets, the company’s ticketing revenues rose a massive 71 percent year-on-year.

Eventim execs can also look forward a couple of years to when the company will be selling tickets for the next global sports spectacle, also held in Brazil, the 2016 Olympic Games.
