It’s less than half the project’s trustees had wanted from the Heritage Lottery Fund, but it does have another £5.8 million coming from Arts Council England.
Work on the complex, which includes the Concert Hall, the Corn Exchange and the Studio Theatre, is expected to start late 2016. The revamp of the Dome complex is part of a larger £35 million plan to give a makeover to the neighbouring Royal Pavilion Estate.
