More Aussie Acts Land Overseas Agency Deals

Matt Andersen represents the group in North America and Tom Taaffe handles Europe and Asia. The band’s Earthwalker, which peaked at No. 5 on the official ARIA chart, was released in North America in October through UNFD/Rise. In Hearts Wake’s North American debut includes opening for California-based Stick To Your Guns and Australia’s The Amity Affliction for 22 dates Feb. 12 to March 8. As a result of strong media attention during a visit to the UK in October, plans are for a return for the summer festival circuit.

Brisbane blues-rock duo The Furrs are now repped for North America by Austin-based Matt Hickey at High Road Touring. He spotted them at the Big Sound confab Brisbane in September. “After watching The Furrs play just their second song, I knew the band was special, and someone I had to work with,” Hickey said. A first visit to the U.S. is slated 2015, with plans to target college radio. The act receives strong support from Australian college radio.
